In 2010, the Ocean State Lacrosse Club will offer a six week summer program for area high school players who are serious about improving their game and will commit to playing in regional weekend tournaments. Highlights include fielding teams in a number of college recruiting venues, including the Bryant Bulldog Classic in June as well as the Sound Lacrosse Tournament Fairfield University and the 'Battle of the Hotbeds' at the University of Delaware in July. Warrior teams will practice once a week as well as play in the Portsmouth Summer League (Wednesdays evenings for U-19 & U-18 players & Thursday evenings for U-17 players).
Players on the OSLC summer teams also become eligible to play in the OSLC fall program, which prepares players for recruiting tournaments at Harvard (Crimson Classic), Bryant (Bulldog Pumpkin Shootout), and the Hampshire Dome (IAS Showcase).
Tryouts for this program are open to all high school age players, & the plan is to field three teams, Elite (U-19), Varsity (U-18), & Junior Varsity (U-17).
The date for the tournaments we plan to go to include:
6/19- Team Central Round Robin for U-17 team, Marlboro, MA
The first tryout will be held on Sunday, April 25th 3:00-5:00 @ Bishop Hendricken in Warwick.
The second tryout will be on Sunday afternoon, May 2nd 3:00-5:00 @ Guiteras School in Bristol. Guiteras Field is behind the school on 35 Washington St. Washington St. intersects Hope St. (Rte. 114) at the Exxon Gas Station by Bristol Harbor.
The 3rd & final tryout for the Ocean State Warriors Summer Travel teams will be held on Sunday, May 16th from 3:00-5:00, at the Meister Kavan turf field at Brown University (behind the Olney Margolies Athletic Center. We look forward to seeing you there! See OSLC Warriors Summer Travel team page for more details. There is a one-time tryout fee of $25; players are encouraged to attend all tryouts.

Teams will practice once a week and will will include Speed & Agility training. Guest appearances from local college coaches and players will give players additional learning opportunities to improve their games.
Players will be given a lacrosse specific weight training regimen and will be encouraged to do so.
Players will be eligible to play on a Warriors team in the Portsmouth Summer League.
Players will learn about the college recruiting process and be given insights on how to promote themselves.
The cost to play for the Warriors will be in the $300-350 range. This will include tournament fees (excluding Battle of the Hotbeds), Warriors uniform, and administrative fees.

The Warrior Varsity 'B' team that competed in the 2008 Ocean State Lacrosse Classic in Portsmouth, RI last July. Both Warrior HS teams made it to their respective Finals, as the Raptors defeated our 'A' team and Team Central beat our 'B' team.
