4/30/10- Registration for the 5th annual Ocean State Lacrosse Camp is in full swing; camp dates are Tuesday July 6th-Friday July 9th. Players interested in improving their skills and athleticism age 8-17 are welcome! See OSLC Camp form page for details.
3/10/10- Many thanks to everyone who played in our indoor league this winter, and a special thanks to the OSL Coaching Staff who provided top notch instruction to all players: On the Boys' side, Tim Ryan (Prout), Dave Brown (NESLL), & Rob Hollis (coach emeritus @ PCD, Moses Brown). On the girls' side, Meg Miller (East Bay), Betsy Bartlett (top women's official), Ted Broomhead (East Bay), & Matt Nunes (IYL & Metacomets Select). Speed & Agility training kudos fo to Roger Marandino (Brown). Special guest appearances came from Brown coaches Errol Wilson, Brad Ross, & Dave Evans, with Marty Kelly (RWU), Andy Soutter (East Bay) & Ron Defeo (Providence) rounding out the staff. We all saw solid improvement in the stick skills, defensive positioning, offensive play, and confidence in our players, & we wish you the best of success playing for your respective teams this spring!!
2/5/10- Team & free agent registrations are now being taken for the Ocean State High School Pre-Season Tourney at Sherwood UltraSport in Seekonk to be held on Monday, Feb. 15th from 3:00-7:30. 12/4/09- Ocean State Lacrosse is offering a new indoor playing opportunity for adult players on Wednesday nights from 8:00-9:00 in December (12/9, 12/16, 12/23) at Sherwood UltraSport in Seekonk. The Sherwood facility is in great shape; the field is unboarded and we’ll play 8 v 8 (goalie, 2 defensemen, 3 middies, & 2 attack) using 6’x6’ goals. The 3 game fee is $45/player or you can pay as you play for $15/game. The first 22 guys to commit will be in. If we get more, we’ll add another time slot (9:00-10:00). If we get a good response, we’ll plan on offering a four team winter indoor league starting in January.

11/27/09- Seasons Greetings to one and all!! Registration for Ocean State's 6th annual Winter Indoor League will begin next week. The eight week program for boys and girls (grade school, middle school, & high school divisions) will take place on Wednesdays starting January 13th.
11/12/09- Ocean State's Late Fall League is up and running- a few spaces remain in the high school boys and girls divisions, middle school boys division, & grade school boys division. Call Coach Popham at (401) 396-9889 to reserve a space.
10/23/09- Registration for OSL's 6th annual Late Fall League at Sherwood in Seekonk is in full swing. The Late Fall program will run on Wednesdays starting Nov. 11th & run for 6 weeks ending Dec. 23rd (no games on Nov. 25th-Thankgiving eve). Two large non-boarded fields will be ready for action this fall for boys & girls divisions in 3 age groups 4th-6th grade, 7th-8th grade, & high school. A player may play up an age division at the Director's discretion. Unlimited Adult Divisions for Men & Women may be added as well. Game times will be 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, & 7:00. 10/19/09 update- The next practice scheduled the Warriors' High School Boys Fall Ball teams is set for Oct. 5th at the Bristol Sports Complex from 3:30-5:30. Interested high school players are welcome to try out for the November Tournament teams.
The 2009 Warrior team that went 2-1 at the Harvard Summer Crimson Classic on June 27 before thunder & lightning ended play.
The 2009 Winter Indoor League middle school teams were made up of talented, hard working & fun loving young ladies.
Players in our Dodge & Shoot program work on developing & refining their dodging form and shooting techniques in simulated game situations. They are encouraged to integrate the skills they learn into their own individual practice routines.
9/23/09 update- A few spaces remain open for OSL's Dodge & Shoot skills development program. The program runs for 5 weeks on Tuesday afternoons or Saturday mornings starting on September 19th at Guiteras School in Bristol. 9/17/09 update-This fall, OSLC will again offer a high school boys fall ball program that will meet on Sunday afternoons (5:00-7:00) starting September 20th at the Bristol Sports Complex (next to Colt State Park) in Bristol. Other practice dates are September 27th, October 4th, 11th, 18th, & 25th. Workouts & game play will be geared to prepare two teams for the following college recruiting tournaments: Harvard Crimson Classic (11/1), the Indoor Action Showcase (11/14), Bryant Pumpkin Shootout (11/15- just moved from 11/8), and Brown Turkey Shoot (11/22). 9/7/09 update- Registration for Ocean State's Fall programs has begun!! While the weather is still comfortable, we will run our popular Dodge & Shoot skills program for 5 weeks on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings starting on September 19th at Guiteras School in Bristol. Dodge & Shoot is open to boys and girls from grade school on thru to high school. The coaching staff will include Roger Williams University Coach Marty Kelly and former Boston Cannons great & Brown Assistant Coach David Evans. Starting on Sunday afternoon September 20th, we will begin our 8 week Fall Ball program for high school boys which will include 6 practice sessions followed by competitive tournaments at Harvard (11/1), Bryant (11/8), & Brown (11/22) as well as the IAS College Recruiting Showcase (11/14). 5/14/09 update- A third tryout for the Warrior Summer Travel teams will be on Sunday May 17th Guiteras School in Bristol from 4:00-6:00. Guiteras Field is behind the school on 35 Washington St. Washington St. intersects Hope St. (Rte. 114) across from Sip 'n Dip Donuts by Bristol Harbor. Warrior class of 2007 Warrior alumni Mike Augustus (Salve Regina) and Jim Turenne (Roger Williams) have been key contributors to their respective teams. RWU edged Salve in a 9-8 overtime thriller in April, 2009.

4/13/09 update #2- Registration for the 4th annual Ocean State Lacrosse Camp (July 6-10) at St. Andrews School in Barrington has begun. This Camp (for boys ages 8-17) emphasizes the mastery of individual fundamental stick skills, the coaching of essential team strategies on offense, defense, and unsettled siuations, and the development of each camp a confident athlete and team player.
Registration fee is $350/player ($325 for US Lacrosse members); financial aid is available. To pre-register or for more information, call Jeff Popham at (401) 247-1003.
